Beastwood slot is the latest game to appear from Quickspin’s studios – and, in keeping with many of their recent releases, the game is built around a more volatile math model than previous releases. The game offers a maximum win of 29,541x your bet, which is a world away from the maximum wins that we used to see offered on Quickspin games.

Unfortunately, another tendency Quickspin has picked up is offering varying RTP settings in their games. This means that online casinos can request lower RTPs than the “standard” – and it’s available in three RTP settings. The default RTP of the game is a fairly respectable 96.11%. However, the game is also available in 94% and 87% variations – the latter of which is really low.

The purpose of this review is to give you an indication of what you can expect when you try out the game for yourself. We’ll be looking at the game’s design, layout, symbols, and bonus features.

Beastwood Slot: Theme, Design, and Layout

Another thing we’ve seen in many of Quickspin’s latest games is a more innovative approach when it comes to designing their slot games. Their latest release is a great example of this, and the slot uses a reel-adding mechanism. Each time you land a winning combination of symbols, the Endless Reels mechanic kicks in, and a new set of reels appears on the right-hand-side.

The game centers around a character called Mr. Beastwood, and the graphics and visual animations are fantastic. The minimum bet is 0.20 credits, and you can wager up to 100 credits per spin depending on the max bet limit imposed by the online casino you’re playing at.

Special Symbols, Bonus Features, and Gameplay

The slot contains a total of 11 paying symbols. The lowest-value symbols are playing card values, including 10, jack, queen, king, and ace. The low-value symbols pay between 0.15 and 2.5x your stake. The medium-value symbols include four different monsters, and the top-value symbol is the Mr. Beastwood symbol himself.

There is also a wild symbol present on the reels, which takes the form of an x-looking wild. This substitutes for all other symbols within the game aside from the scatter symbols. The wild symbols can land on any reels aside from the first three.

Beastwood Slot: Bonus Features

As we noted earlier, the slot contains what Quickspin calls an “Endless Reels” feature. This is triggered any time you form a symbol win. When one or more winning combo is formed, an extra reel is added to the right-hand-side of the screen. This process continues for as long as wins are formed.

The next feature is the symbol win multipliers. Every winning combo that you manage to form sees a symbol win multiplier increasing. If more than one wild symbol lands on a reel, the number of wilds in view will also increase the multiplier. Once the spin has finished playing out, the total win multiplier will be applied to the total win that you managed to get.

As with most of Quickspin’s games, the main attraction in the game is the free spins bonus round. This is triggered by landing four or more of the scatter symbols during the base game. Doing so will award you with 10 free spins. If you land more than 4 scatter symbols, you will receive +3 free spins for each additional scatter in view.

During the free spins, the gameplay remains pretty much the same – with one key difference. A 2x reel multiplier appears on reel four, and on every spin after that. If, during the free spins bonus round, you land any of the scatter symbols in view, you will receive one free spin. There is no conventional re-trigger available.

Finally; if you live in a country that supports bonus buys, the game allows you to purchase direct entry to the free spins bonus round. This comes at a cost of 120x your total stake. The bonus buy option increases the game’s RTP slightly, to 96.38%.

Conclusion

Quickspin’s latest release is something new – there’s no denying that. However, the Endless Reels mechanic is not something we’re new to – and if you’ve ever played any of ReelPlay’s video slots in the past (Money Mariachi Infinity Reels is recommended), you may be familiar with their Infinity Reels mechanic. Quickspin’s mechanic in the slot is a near-carbon copy of this – although it remains to be seen as to whether or not ReelPlay will cause any commotion with Quickspin using it!

Aside from this, Quickspin has done an excellent job with the Beastwood slot, on the whole, we like the graphics – visually, it’s really pleasing. We also like the fact that there’s significantly more win potential than we saw in previous Quickspin games; you can win just shy of 30,000x your stake which, in our opinion, puts the game up there with some of the other highly-volatile games being released today.

We also like the fact that big wins can be formed in both the base game and the free spins bonus round. Unlike many video slots, you’re not relying solely on the free spins bonus round to generate some decent win potential. However, it should be noted that the maximum win potential was found just once in 100 billion simulated spins – so don’t expect to be seeing wins this big making an appearance any time soon!

If you are looking for more games that offer huge winning potentials, then you should try The Border slot from Nolimit City and Dead Riders Trail slot from Relax Gaming. Both are not to be missed.
