Slots exploit almost every mainstream and niche theme known to man. Thus, it’s a bit surprising to stumble upon a new release that features a theme that hasn’t been as present, or at all. A 20th mid-century comic book style spy slot in the form of the Agent Destiny slot.

You probably wouldn’t be too far off if you were to venture a guess that Swedish developer Play’n Go took inspiration from the long-running FX animated show Archer. Or, maybe it’s just because it’s the only thing that’s comparable in visual design today, that you can’t help but go there.

In any case, it’s a nice switch of pace. Play’n Go tries to bring us the exciting and mysterious world of 1960s Bond-like villains, dress and suit-wearing good guys, complete with exotic drinks and ticking time-bombs. Agent Destiny Slot

Agent Destiny Slot Theme, Design and Layout

Visually, there’s a heavy Silver Age of Comic Book influence going on here. This is a period that encompasses 1956-1970 and artists such as Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and Gil Kane. 2D illustrations of the main characters, that move ever so slightly dominate the game. This type of crude animation is the type you see in motion comics that tries to give life to flat imagery.

The game world is high tech, yet retro. Aesthetically, this is conveyed in different ways, especially with the use of half-tone patterns. The backdrop is a black and white collage of story clues that flip and change as you play. The middle panel is where the reels spin, and that’s in colour. It’s also where animations play whenever a winning combination is won. A lot of explosions occur when big wins are counted.

There’s an info panel at the bottom of the screen with relevant information such as the player’s balance, bet and win levels, and a clock. Two larger buttons are on top of it. A setting’s one and a home button.

Special Symbols, Bonus Features and Gameplay

Agent Destiny slot is a five-reel, three-row, twenty-payline slot, that has an RTP of 96.22%, the latter just like the Ring of Odin slot, and a max exposure of 5,000. Of course, this win is only possible in the bonus round. It’s a high variance slot that accepts bets starting from £0.10 up to £100 per spin and is available at our recommended online casino sites. Winning combinations happen when three or more matching symbols land left to right on any one of the paylines. Simple.

There are eight regular symbols in the game divided into four low-paying symbols and four high-paying ones. The low symbols are the royals, 10-A. The high ones are the main characters of the game. Agent Blue, Agent Green, the wild-eyed professor, and Agent Destiny. These four can bring wins worth between six and fifteen times your bet. Destiny is naturally the highest paying symbol.

Two Wilds are technically in play. There’s a Wild Safe, which substitutes all other symbols, except for the Scatter. Both, it and the main characters can also appear as Mega Symbols. This happens at random or when stacks of the same symbol on adjacent reels merge, and it’s a sort of a bonus feature. Mega symbols come in different sizes and increase winning combos. The agent’s watch is the other Wild, that’s also the game’s Scatter symbol.

The Linked Reels feature too activates at random in the base game. Adjacent reels four and five, or three, four and five, display the same symbols, covering every reel position. When this occurs in the base game, a respin is awarded. Then, the identical symbols move left, and more identical symbols emerge on the right-hand side.

Agent Destiny Slot Free Spins Bonus Games

The special agent’s watch, as we pointed out, is a Wild/Scatter symbol. This symbol can replace any other symbol in the game, including the other Wild, the safe symbol. If you land it on the first, third, and fifth reel, on the same spin, then the Free Spins bonus is activated. When there, you get nine Free Spins to start.

The Linked Reels feature is in play on every Free Spin, as you’ll see the Mega Symbol move from rightmost to leftmost. One position per spin. This increases the likelihood of big wins. And, you can get an extra free spin if you land the Wild/Scatter in the bonus round.
