Moon Bingo, which boasts over 400,000 members, has announced that they have paid out a total of over £565 million ever since their launch. The bingo site which now has its own app available in the Apple store to be accessed via iPhone and iPad, while Android users can access it via their Smartphone, has also pointed out that their application will become available on Android tablets very soon. But it was their recent study that showed a huge correlation between UK bingo players and UK soap viewers that caught our attention.
Around 2,500 players from the United Kingdom were polled, between the ages of 25-60, and the results came as no shock to anyone. Of those polled, 63% said that they do watch a soap opera, while more than half of them said that they tend to play online bingo while watching their favourite soap on the telly. Of those asked, 78% said that EastEnders and Coronation Street are by far their favourite soaps, while 31% said that they enjoy to play chat games and watch their preferred soap at the same time. Now that requires a great deal of multi-tasking.
Another interesting finding was the fact that from all the players that like to watch soaps and play bingo, 39% have started to play Moon Bingo on their mobile device, 37% on their laptop and 24% on their tablet or iPad. This clearly shows that mobile bingo is the latest trend within the fragmented bingo industry.
Other notable findings from this poll showed that 53% of players prefer to play bingo during the commercial breaks, 42% said that they play slot games while watching soaps, while 34% said that they play bingo and slots for social reasons. The top three most popular slot machines included Cleopatra, Fluffy Favourites and Jack and the Beanstalk.
