Costa Bingo has selected the independent London based agency of MWO to handle their million pound advertising account after a media agency review that started back in February of last year. As we reported back then, the account was handled by VCCP Blue, the arm of VCCP that usually handles smaller brands that think big. The move to shift agency accounts comes as Costa Bingo gets more aggressive in a saturated online bingo environment.
According to Nielsen, the UK bingo site which is part of BGO spent £1.5 million in 2012, but that amount is set to skyrocket this year to £10 million, making this account one of the biggest in the online gambling industry. One of the first priorities of MWO is to create a new TV commercial set to hit UK screens in early September as people come back from holidays and moms have more time to play bingo as kids return back to school.
As one of the leading UK bingo sites, Costa Bingo aims to keep ahead of the competition, as Alex Holt explains: “Costa Bingo has always been one of the premier brands, and with the appointment of MWO and the budget we are allocating to the campaign, we are confident this will continue.”
