According to a UK tabloid, Liam Gallagher is in early talks to be the face of an online bingo site, as more and more bingo rooms decide to use some star power in their marketing efforts to make some headway in the online bingo industry. Dotty Bingo, one of the new bingo sites to make use of the Microgaming bingo software, which might be finding the online bingo scene a lot more difficult to break into than first thought, has apparently offered the former Oasis star the chance to make bingo even cooler than it already is.

Rumor has it that the offer includes throwing a ton of money Liam’s way to appear in their upcoming TV adverts promoting the bingo brand, as well as recording his own bingo calls. The reports should be taken with a grain of salt, as the news was first reported in the Daily Star, not exactly the most reliable of UK tabloids. If such a marketing ploy does happen, it should be interesting to see what sort of an effect it will have on the brand, since up until now, bingo sites have used predominantly famous women to promote the game of bingo.

The most recent example that has worked wonders for Jackpotjoy Bingo, is when they hired Barbara Windsor to be their Queen of Bingo. She is now the face of one of the busiest bingo sites in the UK, and her face is currently plastered all over TV commercials, banners and of course their website.

But bingo sites should keep in mind that hiring a well-know name to endorse their brand can come with its drawbacks, as we recently reported how Gavin Henson, the face of Brits Bingo, made the headlines for all the wrong reasons, resulting in his abrupt sacking from the Cardiff Blues and losing a sponsorship deal with Nestle.
