As the war for online bingo supremacy intensifies, so is the battle to stay at the top of the chart as the most visited online bingo site on the internet. According to weekly figures released from Experian Hitwise, for the week ending Saturday, September 4th the most visited online bingo website in the UK was Jackpotjoy Bingo with a big 23.21% share of the market and almost 10 points ahead of second place Tombola Bingo. This has been the trend over the last few weeks as Jackpotjoy Bingo went over a major facelift that seems to have gone down very well with the UK online bingo crowd.
Significant changes in the top 15 bingo websites tracked by Hitwise included Foxy Bingo and Gala Bingo swapping places with Foxy Bingo going up to 3 and Gala Bingo dropping to number 4, while Costa Bingo also moved down a place from 7 to 8. Wink Bingo, one of the most popular bingo sites, had a low 2.31% share of the market which does look very strange considering its popularity while its sister site Posh Bingo didn’t fare any better as it was further down the list at number 11 with less than 2% of the market. Paddy Power Bingo managed to make a tiny move up the chart, climbing from 14th position up to 13th, interestingly enough, it has been climbing up the chart the last 3 weeks.
A couple of notable no shows in the top 15 most visited bingo sites included Virgin Bingo and Moon Bingo, even though they both had TV adverts hitting our screens not so long ago. We expect Virgin Bingo not to be MIA next time around as the recent introduction of new online bingo games along with the release of the much anticipated The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring™ online slot game should give the site the necessary boost in order to be featured in the most visited UK online bingo sites.
Another interesting finding from Experian Hitwise indicated that 62.47% of the users searching for online bingo sites were women and only 37.53% were men, while 31.99% of the total users were over the age of 55 and only 19.16% were between the ages of 35-44.
